Resident Evil 4 is probably the best game in the series. Contains strong content, and is not recommended for playing by any person below the age of 15. They are also fairly difficult to beat.ġ5 - Suitable only for persons aged 15 years and over. One of the scariest and most suspenseful moments of the game is in the latter half, and involves enemies called "regenerators", which are tall monsters which move and shiver in obscure ways, and make a very unsettling breathing noise. All of the bosses are very frightening and horrific. This is accompanied by frequent scenes/images of strong horror, such as disturbing and graphic enemy transformations and surreal character designs. THREAT/HORROR - Throughout the entire game, there is a strong sense of sustained threat as the protagonists are challenged endlessly by hordes of unsettling enemies. Alcohol is visible on tables in some parts of the game, though is never consumed. DRINKING/DRUGS/SMOKING - One character asks another if he has a cigarette, to which he responds that he has "gum" as an alternative. There is use of strong language (f**k), however it is spoken in Spanish which is untranslated in the game. PROFANITY - There are some instances of mild language (s**t) and infrequent use of moderate language (b***h). Despite all this, the violence never appears too sadistic as both the protagonist, and the many antagonists are very exaggerated and over-the-top in their appearance, dialogue and actions. One of the most shocking moments of gore is when an enemy uses a chainsaw to decapitate your character, which shows copious amounts of blood. Gore is also featured throughout, as weapons such as the shotgun can be used to shoot the heads off of the enemies with resultant blood spray. Enemies also have the opportunity to grab you, hit you, stab you, shoot you and decapitate you using various weapons or abilities. Brief spurts of blood are visible when this occurs. VIOLENCE/GORE - The violence is strong and frequent, as you must shoot or stab through multiple hordes of enemies ranging from infected/possessed humans to large fantastical creatures. Some female characters wear fairly revealing clothing. SEX/NUDITY - There is a brief suggestive comment in the final scene of the game, where a woman asks a man if he would like to do "overtime" (implying sex or a sexual relationship) when they get back home, but he declines.
